While we could teach you all about how to use a sewing machine in general it would make more sense to teach you how to use your machine better. Our very own Rebecca will guide you through the basics. We will reinforce the lessons by making a sewing machine cover during the class. Limited to six participants.

Skills to be learned:
- How to thread your machine
- How to insert the needle and bobbin
- How to change out the feet
- How to adjust thread tension
- How to wind the bobbin

The current Inventory is a bit out dated. This meetup is intended to fix this. Additionally, we will do some light cleanup work around the shop. Many hands make light work, so come help the shop out in our time of need. Bring a laptop if you can so as to help input the items into an online spreadsheet.

For our next soldering workshop, by popular demand, we are assembling the Adafruit Timesquare DIY Watch kit ( https://www.adafruit.com/products/1225 )

This watch comes with a ultra bright LED matrix and a black silicone watch band that fits all wrists from children to adult.  This is a DIY kit, and requires some basic soldering/assembly to put together. It is a beginner kit, so this is a fine project to use in learning how to solder.

Join Richard Furniss as he covers welding theory and safety using oxy/acetylene equipment.  This class is designed to provide enough information and examples to give the participant the confidence to try welding at home.

This kind of welding can be done outside on a BBQ grill to create works of art.  Suggested material for home practice will be copper rods, flat copper sheets and thin metal tubing.
