Aakin put together this great email for our mailing list a couple days ago, I thought it should be shared, so I'm doing so now; Enjoy!

SYN Shop - The Las Vegas Hackerspace

This class is limited to 25 participants, so RSVP now to get in!

The world is abuzz with credit card sized computers that are inexpensive and easy enough for home hobbyists, artists, and professionals to use.  One such computer is the Arduino, created by a group of Italian researchers and released freely to the world.

We've also been fielding a lot of questions on how to use a breadboard, how to solder, and how to go further with Arduino. That's how Prototyping, Soldering, and Arduino Hack Night came to be.

This class has a hard limit of 25 participants, so RSVP now to get in!

We were completely stunned by the great attendance at the Introduction to Arduino course.  This class picks up where introduction left off. We will be doing the introduction again late August.

We met with Zachary Delbex of RePurpose America on Saturday and took a tour of his warehouse.  His non-profit takes materials left over from trade shows in Las Vegas and "repurposes" them into other things.  His warehouse is like candyland.  Everywhere you look, there's something cool to play with.  We're looking forward to working with Zach on some projects.

Come meet up with the group this Saturday at Mark's place and help prepare for our First Friday booth to make the rest of Las Vegas aware of our hackerspace or just come to meet people and work on your own stuff.

SYN Shop is looking for equipment to set up our new shop. We are also interested in taking tool donations for resale to support our organization (and baby mountain lions!!).
