While at Defcon after Crash and Compile, I was racing against Jason Scott who is famous for, as well as the creator of Get Lamp and other geekish documentaries including the upcomming Defcon Documentary. May have had a few too many beers (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) and crashed the PDP-11. Hilarious.

Many have asked how to go further with Arduino. This is a build night for Arduino where we will wire a circuit and write code together, step by step.  Students are required to bring a Laptop, Arduino, Data Cable, and Breadboard.  Students who do not bring all will not be able to participate

This class has a hard limit of 20 participants, so RSVP now to get in!

My roommate is building an ice cream truck art car that is going to be covered in interactive multicolor LEDs, This is one of the modules we've built, minus the diffuser. It's a project that is going to involve an epic amount of soldering, so if anyone in the SYN Shop community wants to help with soldering, gluing, painting, etc.. ping @hiwrac over on twitter, or post on the list you want to help.

Now that Defcon is over, I'm almost caught up on the video for Project Nomad. Here we're hacking the motor controller.

SYN Shop - The Las Vegas Hackerspace

Come and meet other makers / hackers / DIYers. Bring any projects you'd like to show off or want some help on, tell people about any cool stuff you'd like to share, and meet the wonderful Las Vegas maker community. It should be a good size meetup since we had such great feedback at First Friday! So stop by, it should be a great day.

Sweltering heat and marshmallow guns made up the first half of the event.  Then we ran out of marshmallow guns...

It was another dizzying night at First Friday. We were set up in the same spot in the Kid's Zone as in July, but this time, they moved the stage so it wasn't quite as loud.

In this update in the Project: Nomad series, we tear down the wheel chair motor controller.
