Do you want to participate in the Las Vegas Mini Maker Faire as a maker, a sponsor or volunteer? Are you a curious bystander who wants to know more and see where you might fit in?

Come down to SYN Shop on Saturday, January 5th at 5:00 PM to meet with your Las Vegas Mini Maker Faire Community Team. We'll answer questions and detail our plan of attack for the first Las Vegas Mini Maker Faire coming up on February 2nd.

Unless you've been under a rock, you've probably heard that Las Vegas is getting its own Mini Maker Faire.

Tickets are now available and we will be offering an early bird discount until January 10th, 2013. You can buy yours from our EventBrite Page:

Time to talk about the amazing thing that happened this weekend...

It feels like I have been waiting forever and it's crazy to know that everyone else has been waiting five times longer than I have... but finally, FINALLY the keys were given over to us and the SYN Shop is for the most part, ALIVE and open.

Some quick video of us moving into the new space. Building tables and assembling the ShopBot.

Awesome write-up on the Las Vegas Mini Maker Faire in the MAKE blog. If you haven't registered to show as a Maker, we have extended the Call for Makers deadline to January 10th.  JFDI (Just F***ing Do It!).

So as many of you have noticed, i have not been around much in the past few months. Seeing as it is now completed, I figured I would show everyone the project that has been consuming most of my life for the past year. For the past 3-ish years I have been homebrewing with a group of friends. With the completion of our mechanical engineering degrees approching we had to figure out something to take from idea to completed project. Naturally we chose something involving beer, afterall who doesn't want an excuse to drink at school.

Some of you may remember the vending machine Dataman and I picked during the summer. It's an old cigarette vending machine that we want to modify to sell electronics kits and other do-dads. We've decided that the best way to do this is to turn the vending maching into the fulfillment system for a web store.
