So you didn't get the shipping crate full of electronics parts you wanted for Christmas.  Not to fret, because in this workshop we're going to be giving you hands on practice with several desoldering techniques.

Often desoldering something correctly takes more skill than soldering it in the first place.  But like all skills it's something that requires practice.

Have you ever had a video that you just can't edit... this was one of those. So, instead I'm just going to blog about the construction process. 3 months without a post is too long.

Ever wonder how the internet works? This class will give you a quick introduction to the networks around you: from the Internet, to your office network, to your home network. We will pull back the hood and show you the basics of the technologies that enable the Internet to work. Instructor is Brian Dirk.

Additionally, you will make a functioning 10-foot network cable to take home.

This class will cover:

• Basic network setup and configuration (AKA a "topology")

• Routing and IP Addressing

In this second class in our Basic Electronics Series with instructor, Stan Hanel, animate your Christmas by building a toy with a servo-motor driver circuit that can be controlled by your hand movements.  At the same time, learn how to solder electronic components onto a printed circuit board, how to build a control cable with connectors, and how to install the board into an enclosure that includes servo-motor and control mechanisms.

You will learn:

Vending machines are wonderful works of electro-mechanical complexity. The machine in the shop is no different. If you’ve ever opened it up (go ahead, take a peek while it’s still busted) it’s like a Rube Goldberg machine with antique parts. In its prime, it was a glorious coin operated magic box that ate money and threw up snacks, candy or cigarettes.
