Building Wearable Tech Butterfly Wings.

Another “wearable tech” DIY project! Build a wearable butterfly with two wings that oscillate by using a shape-memory-metal  actuator.

The instructional part of the class will also focus on digital logic and digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) circuitry: 

• Introduction to Boolean Logic.

• Flow chart diagrams and decision symbols

• Logic gate schematic symbols

• How to implement abstract logic gates  into physical digital circuits

Alicia Longoria-Dirk will take you into a world of chocolate. Learn the difference between candy melts, candy bars and high quality chocolate; what tempering is and how to temper chocolate to give your candy the shine and snap of professional chocolates; how to handle and properly dip a variety of treats for a professional look.

No materials are required. Chocolate and all equipment required to keep chocolate at temperature will be provided by the teacher.

3d printing Guru Andrew Morrow is teaching a class on the Makerbot Replicator 2!

The class covers:

-  Anatomy of the machine
-  Safety when operating the machine
-  Storage and treatment of consumables
-  Basic maintenance of the machine
-  Troubleshooting a variety of potential failures
-  Using Makerware to send prints to the machine
-  Tips for leveling the build plate

First, the finished prototype for those who just want the goods!

My brother-in-law is a mathematician and programmer, so while thinking of a good gift to give him for Christmas I decided to build him a Arduino-based clock that would a) look really slick and b) incorporate Conway's Game of Life, since I know a lot of "math" people dig it.
