Just wanted to post a quick heads' up, we now have regular shop hours for all members:

  • Mondays 6pm - 10pm
  • Thursdays 6pm - 10pm
  • Saturdays 3pm - 10pm

Members who are vetted obviously will continue to have access at any time :)

The hours have actually been somewhat regular for the past few weeks, but since we weren't sure how those days and hours would work out, we just treated them as Meetup events until we were sure they'd stick.

So in order to unclutter our Meetup feed, I'll be removing those extraneous events; We should be using Meetup events as intended going forward instead of just to post our "regular business hours".

We just wanted to let everyone know why those events are going away!

So come on down, and Let's Make Stuff Awesome!

I'm glad you've established the operating hours. Normally, they're good times but lately I've been unable to do any of those days. I'd like to know more about the vetted member process or what hours the shop might be open in addition to the listed times. I need to get up to speed on a number of projects including:

  • better erektor connector end pieces for prototype building
  • more cutouts (full spectrum cutouts)
  • 4 sided triangle dice for a board game i created
  • house projects (molded plastic)

I'd like to know where I can get a spool and what software is preferred for modelling on a 3d printer. I have a car full of supply so I need to know when I can come and unload and print!

BTW, I've gotten lots of praise for my dog cut outs, which I made in 45 mins from drawing to cutout in the shop my first time!  LOVE IT!!!  Cool

We're still working on a decent way to notify the website when the shop is "ad-hoc" open, actually I'll be working on something tonight at the shop for that process :)

To become a vetted member, the current process is just to ask, and be "trusted" by three existing vetted / board members :)  There is some responsibility to go along with that obviously (locking up when done, keeping an eye on the shop and other users while there), but ultimately we hope to make anyone who wants to be into a vetted member if they're trustworthy :)

There is a little more info here:
